The City of Wayland is looking to possibly change locations of its city museum.

City Clerk Beverly Conrad informed the city council at their recent meeting that the building the city rents for its museum is listed for sale. The building is also occupied by the Midwest Memories Museum, whose owner Larry Roth is planning on closing by March 2018. The city will incur increased rent, electric, and gas expenses when Midwest Memories closes, so Conrad is looking into other options for the city museum, “We may look into doing some fundraising to possibly put up our own building on city-owned property here on Main Street. We’re just looking at proposals and things we can come up with to house our museum.”

The city is also looking into other rentable spaces that would be cost effective for the museum.
