The Sigourney Savage baseball team opens the playoffs tonight with a trip to Victor to battle the Iowa Valley Tigers at HLV High School.

Sigourney enters play with an overall record of 13-7. In their last game the Savages beat Winfield-Mt. Union Thursday 12-8. On the season Sigourney is led by Mac Conrad at the plate with his .524 average. On the mound Dustin Haines is 5-1 in 37 innings of work with a 4.35 ERA.

Iowa Valley is 8-12 on the season. In their last action the Tigers knocked off Gladbrook-Reinbeck 6-4 Wednesday. This season the Tigers are led by Jacob Krakow with a .429 average at the plate. On the hill, Gabe Ritter leads the way with a 6-3 record over 46 innings and a 1.66ERA.

These two teams met in the regular season with the Savages scoring an 8-4 win. Action begins tonight at 5PM at HLV.
