Two ordinances have proposed amendments for consideration at Tuesday night’s Washington City Council meeting; the ordinances concern animal protection and control, and fireworks.

Also on the agenda for the meeting is a resolution placing a hotel motel tax on the election ballot for August 1st. If approved, the tax would be divided with half going to tourism and promotion of Washington, with the other going to community improvement. The tax would begin January 1st with lodging establishments collecting the tax. The Farmers Market is also on the agenda, with a proposal of it partnering with Main Street Washington to attain non-profit status. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.
