The top academic high school students in Iowa, including one from Washington High School, were recognized at the 15th Annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony Sunday. Jessie Buchholz was one of the seniors recognized. Each student honored was selected by their high school as their highest academic achiever. Every student received a photo plaque of themselves with Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds. The program is presented by the Governor’s Office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.
