The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams hosted the WACO Warriors Friday night in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader.

The Warriors took the girls game 38-31. Kristen Conley spurred the WACO offense in the first half, knocking down four three pointers as the Warriors opened a 10-7 lead after one and were up 18-14 at the half. The Warriors extended their advantage to 14 in the third quarter on an 11-0 run. In the final frame IMS made a push cutting the deficit to seven but WACO held on for the win. Conley led the way for WACO with 12, Kiana Miller scored 11. Suzanna Yoder led IMS with 10.

With the win WACO is now 4-12 overall, IMS falls to 0-15.

In the nightcap the IMS boys overwhelmed WACO 57-30. IMS opened the game on an 8-1 run but WACO got within 8-5 after one quarter. Iowa Mennonite exploded in the second quarter going on a 28-4 run that lasted the entire frame and the Warriors never recovered with IMS leading 36-9 at the half.

Reggie Borntrager led IMS with 16 points, Nick Yutzy had 12. Beau Beckler and Cornell Hulme each had eight to lead WACO. With the win IMS is now 12-5 overall, WACO falls to 1-15 on the year.
