Mid-Prairie Schools decided to continue a sharing agreement with Williamsburg schools. At their most recent board meeting, it was decided they would renew the agreement to share a high school special education teacher. The board also agreed to a new sharing agreement. Superintendent Mark Schneider said there’s a student in their home school assistance program that had taken German in the past, and would like to continue. In order to do that, they needed to sign a sharing agreement with Clear Creek Amana. Schneider added any student at the high school would be able to take German using this agreement, though since fall classes have already been registered for, it wouldn’t be until next spring.
Additionally, the board discussed and approved four grant submission proposals for the Washington County Riverboat Foundation’s mini grants. Once a year, the WCRF presents grants to local organizations for projects that will cost less than $2,000. Among the grant submissions was one to promote literacy in high school science classes, and another to provide enrichment classes to elementary students.
