A three-vehicle wreck happened Wednesday on Highway 92 and Highway 1, near the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. At 5:08 p.m. the Washington County Communications office received the call for the three vehicles blocking traffic. The three drivers were Amanda Adam of Richland, Bryton Pickard of Mt. Pleasant and Keith Zabel of Washington.

The Zabel vehicle was eastbound on Highway 92 and waiting for oncoming traffic before turning into a driveway and the Pickard vehicle was behind him. The Adam vehicle struck the Pickard vehicle, which was pushed into the first car.

Adam was cited for failure to stop with an assured clear distance and she was taken by private vehicle to the University of Iowa Hospital. Vehicles were towed from the scene. Washington Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel and Washington Rescue responded to the scene.
