Wet and cold conditions across Iowa last week slowed field work for farmers with only 2.2 day suitable for fieldwork last week. In southeast Iowa, 87% of corn is planted with 59% emerged, above the five-year averages in both categories. Also, 47% of soybeans have been planted locally, above the 37% five-year average.
Across the state, pasture condition rated at 71% good to excellent and livestock conditions were mostly normal, although feedlots were muddy.
