Iowa’s longest running Ridiculous Day will continue in Washington tomorrow. The 68th Ridiculous Day will be held in downtown Washington tomorrow, beginning with businesses opening at 8 a.m. with bargains and sidewalk sales. Dean Kurtz, also known as Captain Ridiculous, explains the event started with area businessmen wanting to draw crowds into the downtown, and did so in ridiculous fashion, complete with a parade.

The day also includes a superhero and princess contest, a bicycle auction, games and historical sites open around town. Kurtz says over 1,000 rubber ducks will be in the fountain, along with the area rescue dive team. Each duck will have a business name on it and the crowd member who catches it will be able to return it for a $2 bill.
