The Mid-Prairie wrestling team capped off their 2014-2015 wrestling season with their sports banquet Thursday night.

Sophomore Levi Duwa won the most valuable wrestler award for his performance this year. Duwa made to the state tournament for the first time and finished in 8th place at 195 pounds. He finished his season with a 39-8 record.

Most dedicated wrestler went to Sophomore Duncan McCain. McCain wrestled at 120 pounds and made to state for the first time in his high school wrestling career. He finished in 6th place at state. He finished his season with a 48-6 record.

Junior Cameron Tolander won the most improved wrestler during the banquet. Tolander wrestled only junior varsity last year, and in his first full year as a varsity starter went to state at 182 pounds. He was eliminated after the first day at state competition. He finished with a record of 35-11 record.

The Coaches/Guts award that goes to the toughest individual wrestler went to Eli Steckly. Steckly wrestled at 120 pounds for the Golden Hawks.

Three individuals were given the iron man award which is given to guys who made all 50 practices during the wrestling season. Those include, Junior Cameron Tolander, Visouth Petershmidt (170), and Senior Josh Murphy (126).
