After cruising into the district semifinals, the Sigourney Savage boy’s basketball team (16-5 overall) is challenge with stopping one of the highest scoring basketball players in Class 1A. Saber senior guard Otis Roby has scored 459 points so far this season , the 13th highest amount in Class 1A. The Savages will collide with the Sabers of Twin Cedar’s High School (12-10 overall) in the Class 1A District 10 semifinals tonight at Molten-Udell High School.

Sigourney had scoring performances from juniors’ Matus Stevko with 32 points and Blane Gretter with 25 points in their 85-68 district opening win over the Wayne Falcons.

Twin Cedars played an exciting postseason opener with the Keota Eagles last Thursday in Sigourney, ending the Eagles season with a 71-66 victory in overtime. Roby scored 38 points and grabbed down 23 rebounds in the victory.

Tonight’s Class 1A District 10 semifinal game between with Sigourney and Twin Cedars is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Moulten-Udell High School. Listen to KCII’s Sports Page tomorrow for results.
