In their final regular season home meet, the Washington Demon girls’ and boys’ bowling teams took on the Fairfield Trojans in a Southeast Conference showdown at Lebowski’s Rock ‘N Bowl. The bowling team celebrated the group’s five senior bowlers, three from the girls’ squad and two from the boys’. Washington’s senior bowlers include Kailey Martin, Ivy Hamilton, Abbey Tisor, Chris Avila, and Joe Smith.

In the boys’ match, the Demons fell to the Trojans 2621-2372. In round one of competition, Washington fell 1761-1576 to Fairfield. Four of the Demons’ six starters scored two game scores above three hundred points in the first round, led by sophomore Colin Zear’s team-leading score of 372. Freshman Tucker Renox contributed 313 points, sophomore Kylan Gillette added a score of 306 and freshman Bailey Curtis collected a score of 300 points in his first ever varsity start. Washington won one of the five baker’s games in round two and lost by a score of 860-790.

In the girls’ meet, the Demons fell to the Trojans 2308-2015. In round one of the matchup, Washington fell 1552-1369 to Fairfield. Martin had the team high score of 316. Hamilton was the next highest with a two game score of 286. Tisor bowled a two-game score of 248 in her final regular season home match. In round two, the Demons lost all five baker’s games and dropped the round by a score of 756-646.

The boys’ and girls’ bowling teams return to competition this evening at Plamor Lanes in Muscatine against the Louisa Muscatine Falcons and the Camanche Indians. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
