The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks’ wrestling team (6-6) will host a dual meet at home tonight against the Wilton Beavers (16-5).
Head coach Justin Garvey says it will be a difficult match for his team, “We’re definitely the underdog coming into this dual, Wilton is a perennial powerhouse and has good wrestlers it seems like every year. We also have really good wrestlers coming into tonight. It’s just going to come down to how we match up against them weight class to weight class. We have some of our younger guys that are going to have to step it up for us and make some things happen.”
One weight class that the Golden Hawks feel confident in and have all year is 113 pounds with Duncan McCain competing. He is currently undefeated with 31 victories so far this season. Mid-Prairie will start they dual tonight at 6 p.m. against Wilton in Wellman.
