After a review by the Iowa State Auditor’s Office and the United States Department of Labor, the Communications Commission has approved $17,178.84 in compensation to 13 current and past employees. The review regarded potential overtime pay due to schedules over the past two year’s at the Washington County Communications. The $17,000 will be reimbursed by the Washington County Auditor’s Office before the end of the calendar year.

Also, 911 Supervisor Cara Sorrells explains a new schedule will be implemented January 1st, 2015, as a permanent solution, which will comply with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act regarding future overtime payment.
