The Mid-Prairie Community School District was invited to attend the Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant awards banquet earlier this week at Riverside Casino.

Mid Prairie submitted two grants for athletic facility upgrades earlier this year and the Riverboat Foundation award the district money for both proposals.

The first grant awarded was in the amount of 10,500 dollars to be used for lights on Mid-Prairie’s soccer field. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2015 and will allow soccer matches to be played later in the afternoon’s and evenings.

The second grant awarded was in the amount of 200,000 for Mid Prairie to use for a multi-purpose athletic complex.
