The Sigourney girls golf team had their year draw to a close Wednesday at the Class 1A Regional Final Tournament hosted by North Mahaska. The Savages had a team score 401 at Prairie Knolls in New Sharon, finishing sixth of eight teams. Mount Ayr was the tournament winner at 371 and BCLUW was runner-up at 376 to clinch their team spots at state.

Individual Sigourney leader was Ella Bruns with a 96. Regional Final Champion was Mount Ayr’s Jaylee Shaffer with a 70. Other scores for the Savages included Kayla Renner and Ella Fineran 100, Adalynne Tremmel 105 and Clara Hanselman 116.

Senior Kayla Renner will depart through graduation. Sigourney finishes the year with a 29-16 overall record.
