The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team came up just short of advancing through Wednesday’s Class 3A sectional in Oskaloosa as a group, but the season hasn’t fully closed yet. Mid-Prairie shot a team score 321 to finish fifth in the field of eight. North Polk was the winner with their 301, Ballard was second at 304 and Newton third at 318, to make up the three team district qualifying spots. While the Hawks didn’t move on as a group, one individual did. Grayson Gingerich led Mid-Prairie with his 76 to finish seventh and advance to the district meet Monday. Denver Nelson was next, just missing the cut with a 79. Other Golden Hawk scores were Andrew Rath and Logan Pacha at 83 each, Ethan Schlabaugh 87 and Tristan Koller 89.

Gingerich advances to Monday’s district meet at Bos Landen in Pella, with a chance to play for a bid to the 3A State Tournament.
