Washington boys and girls soccer secured two more victories Monday, the girls knocking off Keokuk 4-0 on the road while the boys routed the Chiefs to a 9-1 tune.
Over at Keokuk, the Demon girls were looking for their third straight win. Washington took a 2-0 lead into the break, and added two more in the second half for good measure, giving Washington the 4-0 win. Angeline Anderson scored a brace, putting two in the back of the net, with Nelly Cuevas and Angelique Murillo Hernandez adding the other two. Washington improves to 7-6 on the season, with Keokuk dropping to 5-9.
The boys hosted the Chiefs, and wasted no time in establishing their dominance. Washington took a 6-0 lead by halftime, and put three more through in the second half. A slight slip-up took away the possibility of a clean sheet, but the Demons still grabbed a 9-1 win to break their four-game losing streak. Washington improves to 5-7-2, with Keokuk falling to 0-14. Santiago Ramirez dropped a hat trick, with other goals being scored by Johan and Xavi Recendez, Joseph Schreiber, Ben Kronlage, and Brayden Clough.
Washington’s girls will next face off against county rival Mid-Prairie this Thursday, while the boys will wrap up their regular season on the road at Clear Creek Amana on Friday.
