Annual hydrant maintenance may cause residents to notice changes in water starting Monday. 

The City of Washington Maintenance and Construction Department will begin fire hydrant flushing on March 16th.

It will include all areas north of Madison Avenue. The City anticipates the flushing process to last 10-14 days. 

During flushing residents may experience loss of water pressure, discoloration, or rust. After the flushing process is over, it is recommended to let water faucets run for a few minutes if any discoloration is noticed.
