All winter long it was raining threes in Columbus Junction. The Columbus Wildcat boys basketball team put together a prolific season from beyond the arc.
The ‘Cats connected on an average of eight long balls per game, eighth most in 2A boys basketball this season.
Top sniper for Columbus was Drake Marin. The junior knocked down an average of three triples per game, 10th best in 2A, shooting at a 30% clip. His 63 threes were best on the team, followed by fellow junior Ellis Hills-Carrier with 45 and 21 for senior Drew Totemeier.
The Wildcats finished the season with a 9-13 overall record, their best year since 2008.
