Members of the KCII news team participated in a Severe Weather Spotter Training presented by the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities on Wednesday.
The free annual training lesson covered how to spot severe weather such as severe thunderstorms, tornados and flash floods. It covers varieties and differentiations between the storms from cloud formations to wind speeds and damage reports in determining severity of storms.
Whenever a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued for Washington County, listen to live coverage provided by the KCII Severe Weather Action Team, and if the power goes out, emergency backup generators will keep coverage on the air.
The one to count on for up-to-the-minute severe weather coverage is KCII.
