An Eddyville man was killed following a single-vehicle wreck Saturday in Henry County. 

At 12:24 a.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 218 and 34 at mile marker 44. The incident occurred in the 2200 block of the highway, on the northeast side of Mt. Pleasant.

According to the investigation, 26-year old Jaden Eugene Williams was traveling north when his 2017 Chevy Malibu left the road for unknown reasons and struck an embankment, launching the vehicle into a bridge. Williams died at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, EMS, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, and Henry County Medical Examiner.
