This weekend was the start of Daylight Saving Time. On Sunday at 2 a.m., clocks sprang forward one hour. Daylight Saving Time will run through November 2nd.
Daylight Saving Time is meant to align daylight hours with the times people are most active during the part of the year when the weather is typically warmer. The practice was established in the U.S. as part of an energy conservation effort during World War I.
People are also reminded to use this time to check batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and weather radios.
