A Mt. Pleasant man has been arrested following a shooting that resulted in the death of one person in Marshalltown.

The Marshalltown Police Department arrested 29-year-old Allen James Hart of Mt. Pleasant on the charges of attempted murder, a class B felony; intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony; and reckless use of a firearm, a class D felony.

According to court records, on March 1st, Hart allegedly shot several rounds inside a residence. There were multiple victims with numerous injuries. Hart also fired shots at two individuals outside of the same residence. 

One person died after being transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.

A no contact order was placed on March 6th for one of the victims. A bond hearing has been set for March 9th. Hart is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
