The Winfield Museum has announced it will hold a lecture on the history of railroads in the area on Sunday, March 15th, at 2 p.m.

Exhibits on the history of the railroads in Winfield will be on display. Winfield used to be serviced by not just one, but two railroads: the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railway (CB&Q), and the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway (M&StL). Of these railroads, the Quincy Depot is the only thing left, as the rails are gone.

The lecture will be given by Ron Graber. Graber is a resident of Mt. Pleasant and is a local railroad historian. Graber has also worked with the railroad.

The event will be held at the Winfield Community Veterans Building. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos or articles about the railroad, if they have them.
