A winter of success on the hard-court for Sigourney boys basketball was keyed by numbers among the best in Class 1A.
The Savages averaged 4.3 blocks per game, seventh most in 1A, with John Berg’s 37 the best. Sigourney’s 16.6 assists per night were 10th most in 1A basketball. Ike Molyneux led the Savages with 107 total helpers. Individually, Solon Yates finished fourth in the state with 74 made threes, including a school record nine in a win over Moravia.
Sigourney finished with an 18-5 overall record, 13-3, third in the South Iowa Cedar League.
