A Muscatine County man remains detained on federal child pornography charges. Authorities detained 41-year-old Joseph Lee Rhodes, Jr., of Muscatine County, pending trial in connection with an indictment charging him with five counts of transportation of child pornography.

On January 14th, Rhodes made his initial appearance. Following the March 2nd detention hearing, a United States Magistrate Judge ordered Rhodes to remain detained pending trial.

If convicted, Rhodes could face a mandatory minimum of five years up to 20 years imprisonment for each count. The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in investigating this case.
