History was made this year for the Highland Huskies girls basketball team, piling up impressive numbers along the way on both sides of the ball.
Highland led Class 1A on the glass at 45 rebounds per game. Individually on the boards, the Huskies were led by Kamryn Fink’s 12.6 rebounds per game, eighth most in Class 1A. The Huskies 18.1 steals per game were fourth most in the state. Fink was also the leader here, second in the state with 5.9 takeaways per night. The Huskies were also fourth in helpers with 16 and a half per night, led by Fink’s 3.9 assists per night. Highland also stood tall with 4.7 blocks per game, 10th most in 1A, with Fink’s two swats per night the leader.
Highland was the undefeated champion of the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division, the first time the program won the title without a loss. The Huskies finished with a 20-4 overall record.
