Part of the City of Washington is currently without power, and additional outages are reported elsewhere in the county. 

Around 10:30 a.m., the northwest side of Washington experienced a power outage. Local officials stated that a transformer has blown on the north side of town, and Alliant Energy is sending a crew to respond. As of 11:15 a.m. power had not yet been restored.

According to Alliant Energy’s outage center, power outages were present in West Chester and Brighton as well. Approximately 1,000 customers were listed as being without power.
