The Keota Large Group Speech Team performed its Readers Theatre piece at the Large Group Speech All-State festival at Iowa State University.

Keota performed its piece, “How Angel Peterson Got His Name,” one of only 12 Readers Theatre performances selected to perform at the festival from across the state. At state competition at Clear Creek Amana High School on February 7th, Keota received a 1 rating from all three judges for its performance, prompting the selection.

In addition to the honor of performing at the All-State Festival, five Keota seniors, Luke Moeller, Gavin Sieren, Jake Morris, Chase Haifley, and Jackson Vittetoe, accomplished an exceedingly rare feat, being nominated for All-State performances five times throughout their high school career. That includes selections in their freshman, sophomore, and junior years, as well as two selections in their senior year.

The Keota Large Group Speech Team is coached by Michael McNurlen, and assisted by Gina Bennett and Levi Lyle.
