The Sigourney girls basketball team saw their regional run end Friday in the semifinal round of the Class 1A playoffs 64-55 on the road at Pleasantville. The Trojans jumped on top early 14-9 after the first. The Savages countered, winning the second 16-12, to pull within 26-25 at half. The Trojans maintained a slight lead through three at 40-38 before pulling away 24-17 across the final eight minutes to secure the win.
Brynn Clarahan led Sigourney with another masterclass, scoring 37 points. The Savages end their season at 15-9 and say goodbye to seniors Addy Fineran and Charli Smothers. Pleasantville advanced to the Regional Final against Treynor.
