
A Kalona man was arrested early Wednesday morning after breaking into a residence while the occupants were home.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Noah Parks of Kalona on the charges of second degree burglary, a class C felony, and two counts of interference with official acts causing bodily injury, serious misdemeanors.
At approximately 5:32 a.m. Washington County Communications was notified of a burglary in progress. The report stated that Parks broke into the residence through the back door, where damage was observed to the door and the frame. A resident was sleeping on the living room couch when he heard Parks enter and saw Parks sneaking through the house. The victim shouted at Parks to try to get him to leave.
Parks left the residence prior to the sheriff’s arrival, but returned to the residence while authorities were on scene. Parks refused to cooperate and two deputies received minor injuries during the arrest. Parks has a release hearing scheduled for March 3rd.
