The city of Brighton is under a water boil advisory until further notice.
The notice was issued Friday, February 27th. The Brighton Municipal Water Supply had a problem in the distribution system, and the system lost pressure on Friday. Due to the potential for a bacterial contamination, the boil water advisory has been issued. The system has since been repaired, repressurized, and bacteria samples have been collected.
Until further notice, all water should be boiled and cooled before consumption. The usage of bottled water is also recommended. Boiled or bottled water should also be used for things such as brushing teeth, doing dishes, or cooking.
KCII will bring more information as it becomes official.
