Washington County Sheriff Jared Schneider was recognized by the county board of supervisors Tuesday for his years of service to the county.

Schneider has been with the county for 30 years. He was appointed chief deputy in 2010, after being with the office for 15 years, starting off as a jailer and working up the ranks.

He was first elected to the role of county sheriff in 2016. Schneider is also the Financial Administration for the Iowa State Sheriff’s and Deputies’ Association.
