The Leadership Washington class participated in a City and County Government Day.
This day was to gain firsthand knowledge of the essential services and meet the professionals who keep Washington running smoothly.
The day began with a tour of the Washington County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), 9-1-1 center, jail, and sheriff’s office. Participants learned about corrections operations, emergency communications, and the coordinated response efforts that serve and protect county residents.
Washington City Hall was the next stop for the class where they met with officials to learn more about municipal operations. They visited the Washington Police Department and Washington Fire Department, where the class got an inside look at public safety services, and emergency response procedures. The final stop of the day was the Washington County Ambulance Service.
Leadership Washington is a community awareness program from the Washington Chamber of Commerce.
