The Washington boys basketball team secured a winning season on Tuesday, knocking off West Liberty 63-58 on Tuesday.

The Demons and Comets were pretty evenly matched, despite a disparity in records. Washington trailed by one at the end of the first, 12-11, and fell behind 29-25 by halftime. Fortunately, the Demons were able to make the needed adjustments at the half, coming out with an 18-11 third quarter to claim a lead going into the final frame, and then holding off the Comets in the fourth for the five-point win.

Washington improves to 12-9 for the season, and will be guaranteed a winning record as they sit three games above .500 with a minimum of two games to play. The Demons will wrap up the regular season on Thursday, hosting state-ranked Solon. The Spartans are 19-2 on the season.
