The trial of a Washington man who was arrested in December on felony domestic abuse assault charges as well as child endangerment has been scheduled.
According to court records, the Washington Police Department responded to a disturbance at a residence on December 27th. Authorities arrested 42-year-old Milton Jones of Washington on the charges of third offense domestic abuse assault, a class D felony, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Allegedly Jones prevented the victim from dialing 911 to request emergency assistance. During the investigation, officers learned that Jones threw an infant chair into the air, causing it to strike and break the glass light fixture of a ceiling fan. As a result, broken glass fell onto the victim and an infant, creating a substantial risk of physical injury to the child due to falling glass and the forceful throwing of furniture in close proximity to the child.
An arraignment date has been set for February 27th.
