The Sigourney girls basketball team got to work early in Tuesday night’s Class 2A Regional Quarterfinal win over the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets at Sigourney High School, scoring a 58-47 win. The Savages led 19-17 after the first and the offense stayed hot in the second, winning the frame 25-11 to give the home team a 44-28 cushion at the break. EBF won the second half 19-15, but it was enough to get back in the contest. Sigourney shot 30% from the floor in the win with six made threes, 33 rebounds, 19 steals, and 10 assists. Brynn Clarahan led the Savages across the board with 27 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and six assists. Bailey Gretter got to double figures with 10 points. Sigourney improves to 15-8 on the season, EBF wraps up at 10-12. Sigourney is on the road in Friday’s semifinal against Pleasantville.
