
The Lone Tree girls and boys basketball teams made their way to Packwood to complete the season set with the Pekin Panthers. The Lady Lions made it a season sweep of the Panthers by a 53-43 score. Lone Tree led 22-13 after one and 34-21 at the half. The Lion lead was 15 after three before they closed out the win. Each team shot 35%, with Lone Tree winning rebounds 34-32, steals 12-9 and turnovers 21-19. Finley Jacque finished with 20 points, eight boards and five steals. Ava Christofferson went for 11 points and Dalanie Graap four assists. Anna Hadley had 20 points to lead Pekin. The win moved Lone Tree to 12-6 while the Panthers dropped to 9-7.
The nightcap saw the home team take a 77-45 win over the Lions. A fast start propelled Pekin. They led 31-10 after the first and 46-20 at half. The Panthers outscored Lone Tree 31-25 after intermission to finish the win. The Panthers out shot Lone Tree 59-31%, won rebounds 41-31, assists 25-5, steals 9-5 and turnovers 16-11. Nolan Glick’s monster 29 point 13 rebound double double was a big part of the difference for Pekin. Cole Millikin scored 14 and Riley Smith 12. For Lone Tree Cade Willoz went double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Reece Holbrook scored 13 and Domonic Garcia 10. The win moved Pekin to 13-3 while Lone Tree fell to 4-12.
