A big day on the lanes Monday for the Sigourney-Keota boys bowling team turned into a pair of tickets to the State Tournament next week at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo.

The SK boys finished as team runners-up at the Class 1A State Qualifier meet at Keokuk. The Savages rolled a team score 2983, narrowly missing the top spot behind Louisa-Muscatine’s 3011. Sigourney-Keota was led by individual Qualifier Meet Champ Owen Clark and his 668 series which included a high game 245. Other SK scores were Wells Clark third overall with a 643 and high game 227, Aidan Greiner with a 565 and high game 204, Liam VanVoltenburg 546 with a high game 201, Caden Meyer with a 416 and high game 160 and Easton Olsen 378 with a high game 151.

Based on their Monday performance both Clarks, Owen and Wells, advance to the State meet.

The Class 1A State Bowling Championships will be held Tuesday, February 24th at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo.
