The Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter hosted two Iowa FFA officers for a chapter visit in late January.

Iowa FFA officers Hannah Gross and Erica Driscoll visited Wellman on January 30th to meet with members of the Mid-Prairie FFA. During a year of service, Iowa FFA officers travel to chapters around the state to connect with members and discuss the opportunities available to students enrolled in agricultural education. According to the Iowa FFA, agricultural education consists of three parts– the classroom for basic knowledge, FFA for developing personal and leadership skills, and Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) for providing hands-on learning while working or in an agricultural business.

The Iowa FFA Association comprises 273 local chapters, and over 20,000 students. While at Mid-Prairie, Gross and Driscoll discussed opportunities with the Mid-Prairie FFA students. The students also participated in leadership-building activities.
