The Lone Tree Lady Lions have cleared the first hurdle in their run through the Class 1A, Region 4 tournament, defeating New London 50-8.

Lone Tree were the heavy favorites, facing a winless Tigers squad, and the Lady Lions didn’t play around for long. Lone Tree led 20-0 at the end of the first, and added another 15 points in the second to lead 35-3 at the break. With such a big lead, Lone Tree was able to rotate the roster through the running clock, and the second half quickly wrapped up with a 50-8 final score in favor of the Lady Lions.

Lone Tree moves on to the next round, where things will get significantly tougher. The Lady Lions will face off against conference foe Wapello in Lone Tree next Tuesday. The Arrows defeated Lone Tree in both regular season match-ups this season, 56-48, and 59-54.
