
The WACO Warrior boys broke a two-game losing skid to head into Districts on a winning note, taking down the Wapello Arrows 61-48 on Tuesday.
The Warriors led virtually wire-to-wire, with Wapello only threatening a couple of times in the first. WACO led 16-13 at the end of the first, and led 32-21 by halftime. The Warriors won the second half 29-27 to take home a comfortable, 13-point win.
WACO, as a team, shot an impressive 45% from the floor. Holden Hughes led the Warriors with 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting, with a couple three-pointers as well. Kellen Shelman had 11. The Arrows were led by Kinnick Richenberger’s 17.
WACO is 11-10 this season, and will face off against Holy Trinity Catholic to start their playoff run.
