Sigourney-Keota’s Sophie Young took the biggest stage at Tuesday’s Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Individual Class 1A State Bowling Championships at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo.
The SK junior was in the top five after her first round of 225. Young remained there, following it up with a second game 201, but a third game 147 dropped her to 15th with a total of 573, knocking her out of contention for the quarterfinals and bracket play.
This was Young’s second career appearance at the State Tournament. She finished 17th in 2025.
