Fareway Stores has announced a donation of more than 69,000 pounds of ham to food banks across the state of Iowa. 

The sizable donation, totaling 5,504 individual hams, will be distributed through three food bank partners. The donation also includes several different kinds of hams, including classic half-size hams, spiral hams, and full-size carver hams. Sixty percent of the donation will go to the Food Bank of Iowa, with the remaining 40 percent split between the Siouxland Food Bank and the River Bend Food Bank. 

The Food Bank of Iowa serves many different pantries in southeast Iowa, including pantries in Wayland, Keota, Columbus Junction, Sigourney, Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant, and more.
