
A deceased person was found following a vehicle crash near Richmond on Wednesday morning. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, around 8 a.m., officials responded to a report of a single vehicle in the ditch in the 2300 block of 140th Street, approximately one mile east of Richmond.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and discovered 58-year-old Russel Lintz of Kalona unconscious and not breathing. An investigation indicated the Honda CR-V was traveling eastward on 140th Street when it left the roadway south of Camp Creek Bridge. The vehicle went airborne and struck the creek embankment on the east side before coming to rest on its passenger side in the creek. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Assisting at the scene was the Kalona Fire Department, Kalona QRS, Washington County Ambulance, Beatty Funeral Home, the County Medical Examiner, and Bulltown Towing.
