A Kalona man charged with multiple felony crimes against children in 2024 has been sentenced to prison. 

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Ronnie Steven Zvacekon a warrant for 16 counts of sexual acts against children in August of 2024. He was taken to the Washington County Jail, where he remained until his recent sentencing hearing on December 19th.

Zvacek plead guilty to five counts of lascivious acts with a child, class C felonies. He will serve up to 32 years consecutively in the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale, and has been ordered to pay just under $5,000 in fines. 

According to court documents, the charges stem from a series of alleged incidents between June 22nd and July 22nd of 2024 that involved Zvacek and two minors. The victims were under the age of 14. He was initially charged with four counts of second degree sexual abuse, class B felonies; four counts of lascivious acts with a child, class C felonies; four counts of incest, class D felonies; and four counts of indecent exposure, serious misdemeanors.
