Join Iowa Poet Laureate Vince Gotera at the Washington Public Library this Saturday for a special Washington Writers’ Workshop.
In 2024, Gotera was named the fifth Iowa Poet Laureate, with a two-year term beginning on March 1, 2024. Born and raised in San Francisco, he also lived in the Philippines for some time as a young child. He currently lives in Waterloo.
There will be an hour of writers’ workshop with Gotera followed by an author spotlight reading at 11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served. This program has been funded by Humanities Iowa, a private nonprofit, and the State Historical Society, Inc. of Iowa. A cultural resource for Iowans since 1971, Humanities Iowa brings humanities programs into the heart of Iowa communities.
This free program does not require registration to attend.
