Weather data from the past year shows drier and warmer-than-usual weather locally.

The National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities has compiled the data for a few cities in eastern Iowa. Washington saw just over 30 inches of precipitation in 2025. The normal amount is closer to the 37-inch mark. Snowfall totals for Washington were well below average for the season that ended last March, the total snow accumulation was 7.6 inches, with the normal being 25.2 inches. So far this season, in contrast, Washington has received 11.1 inches of snow. 

According to the US Drought Monitor, Washington County is currently experiencing moderate drought. 

Washington saw its highest temperature of the year on September 14th with a high of 97 degrees. The average temperature at that time of year is around 70 degrees. The lowest temperature observed was -13 degrees on January 21st.
