A Riverside man has been arrested on possession of methamphetamine and interference with official acts.

On Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Joseph Moore of Riverside. The vehicle had no visible license plates and allegedly was seen swerving in the roadway. After the deputy put on flashing lights to stop the vehicle, Moore allegedly drove for two more blocks. Moore did not comply with instructions to roll down the vehicle’s window. After 10 minutes, the deputy approached the vehicle and saw that Moore was the only occupant and was passed out in the passenger seat. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were viewed in the vehicle.

Moore was charged with possession of a controlled substance second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors. He was also charged with no driver’s license, failure to provide insurance, operating a non-registered vehicle, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Further charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated will be determined pending lab results.

A trial date has yet to be set. Moore is currently being held in the Washington County Jail.
